Class 33

NetworkSouthEast.co.uk

The ‘Cromptons’ saw most of their use on the Waterloo-Exeter route, before they were displaced by Class 159’s (see Route Modernisation). Network SouthEast also used some for infrastructure duties, which become NSE’s responsibility after the ‘Organising for Quality’ study by BR in the early 90’s. As the information shown here is from 1994, the fleet sizes shown are significantly less than the fleet sizes in the late 80’s-early 90’s.
The following 33s were transferred to NSE in 1992 for infrastructure work:
33002/8/12/19/20/1/3/5/6/9/30/3/5/40/2/6/7/8/50/1/2/3/7/63/4/5, 33101/3/8/9/10/3/6/7/8, 33201/2/5/7.
