Also well travelled, the class 50’s saw work on many of the NSE loco hauled routes, including Paddington-Banbury and Waterloo-Exeter. However, the ‘hovers’ suffered reliability problems, and were withdrawn in the early 90’s. Due to their early withdrawl, the technical specification shows a fleet size of 2, but other 'Hoovers', withdrawn previously, are listed below:

50007/29/30/3/46/50. Nos 50029/30/46 were withdrawn during that year.
