EMU Index: Underground stock

NetworkSouthEast Gallery

Network SouthEast ran two lines which used underground stock, although only one of them was an underground line. The self-contained 'Island Line' on the Isle of Wight used refurbished 1938 London Transport units, designated class 483, whereas a year before NSE was sold off, brand new units for Network SouthEast's 'Waterloo & City Line' were ordered.

Class 482 Brand New 482 505 is seen here at Bank, Waterloo and City Line

Class 483 Class 483 unit 004 (Island line only used the last three digits of the units number, although officially it was 483 004) heads towards Ryde.

Class 483 Class 483 unit 001, seen at Ryde Esplanade.

I think its a '485..... The class 485's were the units used on the island before the class 483's

w&c.JPG (13895 bytes) The Class 487's were of Bullied design, and in use on the Waterloo and City line, prior to introduction of the the class 482's.
