Yes, this is the class 47 index (probably the biggest selection of images in the
gallery!). The class 47's were widely used on all NSE loco-hauled services, including
Waterloo-Exeter and Paddington-Banbury and Oxford.

47 478, recently tranferred to NSE, on a Waterloo-Exter

47 521, in immaculate ex-works condition, at Paddington
47 573 The London Standard at Tinsley. This was
the first loco to receive NSE livery, and was painted for the launch in June 1986.

line. The locomotive was later re-instated.
47573 (London Evening Standard) running through
Alexandra Palace on 8 May 1987. The headboard was to commemorate the final diesel
loco-hauled Kings X - Peterborough commuter train (the 17:13 service). From the
following Monday, class 317s took over.
