Yes, this is the class 47 index (probably the biggest selection of images in the gallery!). The class 47's were widely used on all NSE loco-hauled services, including Waterloo-Exeter and Paddington-Banbury and Oxford.

47573 (London Evening Standard)  running through Alexandra Palace on 8 May 1987.  The headboard was to commemorate the final diesel loco-hauled Kings X - Peterborough commuter train (the 17:13 service).  From the following Monday, class 317s took over.
