| Peg | Semaphore signal |
| Photpoint | Photogenic aspect or location |
| Piece | A ticket with some validity somewhere |
| Pilot | The leading locomotive of a pair |
| PINED | A reactionary cancellation (unlike Cape which is a planned cancellation) |
| Plastic | Inferior or (of people) insincere; not the real thing. |
| Plus x | Connection time for next move, as in "Theres a plus 20 off 1D55 for the Skeg-Derbys" |
| Prison Stock | Coach with drop down windows barred over to prevent bellowing. |

| Wind | Winding motion of arm to indicate dislike of engine |
